Job Summary
Manufacturing Manager responsible for leading a union-represented workforce in Ridley Park, PA, to develop and execute integrated plans that meet cost and schedule targets, drive first-time quality, and deliver strategic manufacturing improvements. The role involves facilitating Tier 1/2/CAT meetings, addressing defects and root causes, managing cost performance, and cross-functional collaboration to resolve engineering, part shortages, and staffing constraints. The position emphasizes leadership, inclusion, safety, resource acquisition, process improvements, and strong interaction with customers, stakeholders, and direct reports. Requires leadership experience in manufacturing/operations, lean experience, and ability to operate in a highly collaborative aerospace/defense environment with cross-functional teams and CBUs.
Required Qualifications
- Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course "Exploring Leadership"
- 3+ years’ experience in a manufacturing or operations environment
- Experience implementing lean methodologies and productivity improvements
Desired Qualifications
- Experience managing a Collective Bargaining Unit (CBU) / hourly union-represented workforce
- Experience with Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Manufacturing Execution Systems common image (MESci) experience
- Experience in the Aerospace & Defense Industry and/or the military
- Interfacing with senior and executive leadership
- Strong analytic, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills
- Experience leading cross-functional teams to meet cost and schedule targets
- Knowledge of lean methodologies and productivity improvements
- Capability to develop and maintain relationships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and direct reports
