Job Summary
Manufacturing Manager to lead a diverse manufacturing team focused on achieving the production schedule while improving safety, quality, and efficiency. Responsibilities include hiring, developing, and training staff for ramp-ups; developing production scalability and standardized workflows; facilitating problem solving groups; leading Lean training; developing policies and standardized work; driving continuous improvement with tools such as Kanban, 5S, visual management, and A3 problem solving; managing training and safety programs; coordinating with warehouse, quality, and FIT; optimizing the entire value-stream from supply to delivery; supporting new product/process launches; managing multiple shifts; creating dashboards for decision-making; and conducting root-cause analysis of defects and production challenges. The role requires ability to lead cross-functional collaboration, strong analytics, and hands-on leadership in a fully on-site Newark, Delaware environment.
Required Qualifications
- BS Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent related experience
- Minimum 6 years of experience in high volume complex assembly or advanced manufacturing environment as a leader
- Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing tools and principles with proven results
- Experience managing manufacturing teams, automation equipment and MES Systems
- Knowledge of Warehouse and Inventory Management
- Hands on experience with ERP implementation
- Experience with Oracle: Warehouse Management System (WMS)
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Highly advanced analytical and cognitive skills
- Must be a creative thinker and have a vision of how to raise process maturity to the next level
- Must demonstrate a bias for action and implementation
- Experience and acumen with electrical components preferred
- Business experience in hi tech or low volume / high mix industries preferred
- Computer systems knowledge including strong proficiency with Excel and MS Office programs
- Strong data analysis and data driven decision making skills
- Ability to stand/walk for up to 10-12 hours per shift
- Occasionally lift/carry up to 25–50 lbs
- Visual acuity sufficient for product inspection and reading digital/printed materials
- Hearing ability to detect alarms and communicate effectively with staff
