Job Summary
Own floor uptime by rapidly troubleshooting and maintaining complex automation, robotics, and electro-mechanical systems, with a focus on high-precision adhesive dispensing, laser weld, and EOL test systems. Execute and improve preventative maintenance plans to maximize equipment reliability while commissioning new manufacturing tooling with engineering teams. Diagnose faults in PLCs and robotic systems to minimize mean time to repair, managing spare parts inventory and designing shop fixtures to improve cycle times. Mentor junior technicians and operators on technical knowledge. This role supports the TechOps Powertrain team scaling production of the High Voltage Electric Propulsion System for Archer's eVTOL aircraft.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on experience as an Equipment Maintenance, Controls, or Automation Technician in a high-volume manufacturing environment
- Associate's Degree in Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Technology, or equivalent hands-on military/industry experience
- Deep proficiency in troubleshooting pneumatic systems, hydraulic power, lubrication loops, and precision mechanical assemblies
- Experience teaching/programming industrial robots (Fanuc preferred)
- diagnosing faults using PLCs (Allen-Bradley preferred)
- Strong ability to read electrical/pneumatic schematics and mechanical assembly drawings
- Familiarity with Electrical Standards (NFPA79, NEC) and Safety Standards (ANSI/RIA 15.06, OSHA)
- Unwavering commitment to safety protocols including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Arc Flash safety, and 5S standards
- A self-motivated, 'handle business' attitude with excellent logical-thinking and diagnostic skills
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time to support integrator buy-offs

Desired Qualifications
- Automotive EV, aerospace, or advanced automation preferred
- Direct experience maintaining automated equipment for High-Voltage Battery module/pack assembly or powertrain production
- Familiarity with laser welding, resistance spot welding, or high-voltage battery testing equipment
- Active NFPA 70E certification
- Basic machine shop experience (milling, turning, grinding) for quick fixture modifications
