Job Summary
Execute preventive and predictive maintenance on production equipment, including inspection, lubrication, alignment, and component wear assessment. Respond to breakdowns by diagnosing mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical faults to restore reliable operation while minimizing downtime. Perform fabrication and repair work such as welding, cutting, and machining replacement parts, and support equipment installation and commissioning projects. Document all labor, parts, and failure details in the computerized maintenance management system, maintaining inventory awareness and adhering strictly to lockout/tagout and safety procedures. Identify recurring failure modes to recommend preventive maintenance adjustments and support planned shutdowns to ensure on-schedule production restarts.
Required Qualifications
- Prior industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience
- demonstrated competency in mechanical troubleshooting and repair on production equipment
- practical working knowledge of mechanical drive systems
- practical working knowledge of pneumatics
- practical working knowledge of hydraulics
- ability to read and interpret mechanical schematics
- ability to read and interpret technical manuals
- ability to read and interpret parts diagrams
- Strict adherence to lockout/tagout and industrial safety procedures
- ability to supply and use standard hand tools
- ability to lift and carry heavy components
- ability to work at heights
- ability to work in confined spaces
- availability onsite for the assigned shift
- availability for overtime
- availability for weekend coverage during breakdowns
- Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States for the duration of the engagement
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in food, beverage, or other regulated production environments
- familiarity with GMP
- familiarity with sanitary equipment design considerations
- Welding and fabrication certification
- electrical troubleshooting capability including motors, drives, and control circuits
- PLC familiarity
- experience with CMMS platforms
- Completion of a maintenance or millwright apprenticeship
- Experience with predictive maintenance techniques such as vibration analysis
- Experience with predictive maintenance techniques such as thermography
- Experience with predictive maintenance techniques such as oil analysis
- Familiarity with conveyors
- Familiarity with packaging equipment
- Familiarity with pumps
- Familiarity with compressors
- Familiarity with refrigeration systems
