Job Summary
Perform critical regular laboratory maintenance duties including dish washing, cleaning lab benches, clearing common-use lab space of unneeded materials, changing dialysis buffers, and reagent preparation. Process raw materials for further manufacturing and execute antibody production projects to generate catalog and specialty bulk/custom materials as assigned. Develop proficiency in production techniques such as fractionation, filtration, adsorption, purification, and centrifugation while accurately documenting all required data related to production records. Effectively operate and maintain standard laboratory equipment and ensure the laboratory is well stocked and resourced. Become familiar with all laboratory SOPs and cross-train with other functions within the department to maintain business continuity.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Scientific field
- Able to use independent thinking and judgment to perform tasks as needed without frequent supervision
- Requires working with blood products, hazardous chemicals, mammalian cells, and tissues
- Must be comfortable working in a production setting
- Must be able to multitask and/or quickly adjust to shifting priorities
- May work overtime on occasion
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Scientific field preferred
- Preferred experience in a scientific environment utilizing a centrifuge, pH meter, spectrophotometer and/or electrophoresis
