Job Summary
Assist engineers with basic design, testing, and documentation tasks, including reviewing engineering drawings, specifications, and procedures. Support data collection, analysis, and reporting for ongoing R&D and product development projects while participating in continuous improvement, quality, or manufacturing activities. Work hands-on on the Production/Prototype floor under supervision to complete assigned projects and present findings to the engineering team. This internship supports the Engineering team in electronics, electrical, and/or mechanical specialties within Warfare Systems, a business group within HII's Mission Technologies division.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must be actively enrolled in a 2-4 year college/university working towards an Bachelor's degree with up to 20% of the required credits completed
- Ability to Obtain Security Clearance
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as machining, assembly, automation, or quality control
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Comfortable using measurement tools and data collection methods
- Strong computer skills, including Excel, PowerPoint, and basic data analysis
- Effective communication skills to work with cross‐functional teams on the shop floor and in engineering
- Self‐motivated, detail‐oriented, and willing to learn in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
