Job Summary
Review, interpret, and maintain paperwork and electronic data for hardware assemblies to ensure traceability. Build compliant electrical harness assemblies by interpreting schematics, conducting continuity and insulation resistance tests, and routing wiring on flight hardware. Perform soldering, wire stripping, contact crimping, and strain relief while applying structural bonding and epoxy or silicone adhesives. Collaborate with engineers to develop or proof new processes and determine the optimum assembly order for complex mechanical structures. Work from drawings, sketches, and management direction while utilizing precision hand tools for force and torque applications.
Required Qualifications
- US Citizen able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance
- Ability to read, write and work to instructions written in English
- Ability to lift/push/pull up to 40 pounds
- Ability to be on feet for up to various hours each day
- Ability to work flexible hours, overtime, and different shifts based on demanding manufacturing schedules
- High school diploma or GED and at least 2 years of additional education and/or related experience
- High school diploma or GED and at least 4 years of wire harness assembly and soldering experience
- Ability to read and follow directions on engineering drawings and Schematics
Desired Qualifications
- J-STD-001 Soldering Certification (expired okay- current preferred)
- NASA STD 8739.1 Certification (expired okay- current preferred)
- NASA STD 8739.4 Certification (expired okay- current preferred)
- Knowledge of ESD and Flight Hardware handing
- Demonstrated Mechanical Ability
- Familiarity with solar cell technology and CIC wiring
- Proficient use of basic shop arithmetic
- Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Initiative, self-starter, adaptable, and high motivation for excellence
