Manufacturing Gage Calibration Technician

Job Summary
Set up standard and special purpose laboratory equipment to test, evaluate, and calibrate electrical, mechanical, and electronic measuring instruments for conformance to established standards. Disassemble gages and inspect components for defects, then measure parts against specifications before reassembling and calibrating them. Maintain calibration records and assist engineers in formulating test and evaluation plans to ensure precision accuracy. Perform routine mechanical gage calibrations while participating in 5S workplace activities to maintain a good working order. Communicate effectively regarding problems and seek ways to improve daily work processes.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- minimum inspection experience should be equivalent to a Mechanical/Dimensional Inspector, Level 1 or greater
- Ability to understand and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and tolerances
- Basic working knowledge of GD&T
- Basic understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
- Ability to use calibration software such as Gage Trak
- Must be able to create a schedule, gage files, and populate gage
- Must be able to clearly, concisely, and accurately convey ideas and information to others, in English, both verbally and in written form
- Must be able to reach with hands and arms
- Must be able to bend and kneel frequently at a minimum of 50% of the shift
- Must demonstrate proficient fine motor skills
- ability to grip, reach, pull, turn, and use tools to torque fixtures in various machinery or in the assembly, machining, or testing of parts
- Specific vision abilities required may include close vision, distance vision, peripheral and depth perception, and the ability to focus on fine print
- Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) where required
- Must comply with all work exposure EH&S training requirements
- Must comply with SIG SAUER Inc. security mandates
- Regular on-site attendance
