Job Summary
Manufacturing Failure Analysis Engineer at Intel Foundry Malaysia (Penang) focusing on identifying root causes of failures in manufacturing processes and technologies. Responsibilities include defining failure analysis strategies, executing lab work to evaluate electrical and mechanical characteristics of ICs/components/systems, developing advanced methodologies for failure-analysis capabilities, studying material-device interactions to understand failure mechanisms, recommending corrective actions, and collaborating across sites to enable technology/product transfers, automation, and process improvements. Must ensure SOPs and BKMs are followed and coordinate with internal/external partners, including third-party labs, to support investigations. Preferred qualifications include experience with cross-functional collaboration, strong problem-solving in a fast-paced environment, and demonstrated ability to drive process improvements in manufacturing.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or BS degree in Material Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or a related field
- 3+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree, 2+ years with a Master's degree, or 0 years with a PhD
- Hands-on experience in failure analysis techniques, including defect detection, failure modes analysis, and fault isolation
- Proficiency in using electrical, analytical, and mechanical tools and methodologies for failure analysis
- Familiarity with ANALYTICAL tools such as SEM, FTIR, Xray or willingness to undergo training
- Fundamental understanding of statistical analysis and its application in manufacturing processes
