Job Summary

Design and review engineering drawings, develop precision turning and welding fabrication processes, and implement Lean methodology for process improvement. Manage complex manufacturing projects involving tooling requirements, risk assessments, and supplier differentiation while supporting design reviews and operational targets. Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure dimensional requirements and safety protocols are met across rocket engine and power systems products.

  • Welding experience
  • Machining experience
  • Shop type experience
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience (Level III)
  • Minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience (Level IV)
  • Minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience (Level V)
  • Graduate Degree
  • Minimum 2 years of prior related experience (Level III)
  • Minimum 4 years of prior related experience (Level IV)
  • Minimum 7 years of prior related experience (Level V)
  • Minimum 8 years of prior related experience (in lieu of degree, Level III)
  • Minimum 10 years of prior related experience (in lieu of degree, Level IV)
  • Minimum 13 years of prior related experience (in lieu of degree, Level V)
  • Experience with ProE, CATIA, VisMockup, or similar CAD/virtual manufacturing tools/software
  • Experience with MS Office applications such as Word, Excel
  • Experience with Lean methodology
  • Experience with process certification
  • Experience with process improvement methods (e.g. Kaizen, 3P, VSM)
  • Experience with Bluebook elements
  • Ability to prepare Basis of Estimates (BOE)
  • Ability to develop and defend key strategic manufacturing plans
  • Ability to differentiate between suppliers based on technical process capability
  • Ability to differentiate between suppliers based on business capability
  • Experience with ISO compliance
  • Ability to determine tooling requirements for machining
  • Ability to determine tooling requirements for welding
  • Ability to determine clean and etching process for materials
  • Ability to perform risk assessments
  • Ability to support design reviews (CDR, CoDR, PDR)
  • Ability to determine complex design geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
  • Ability to develop and implement manufacturing fabrication and assembly processes
  • Ability to develop and implement welding processes
  • Ability to determine machine loading, setups, hardware handling instructions and scheduling
  • Ability to explain, interpret, and gain cooperation on policies, procedures and practices
  • Ability to provide guidance, coaching and training to other employees
  • Ability to manage complex projects involving delegation of work and review of work products
  • Ability to communicate with parties external to the organization (e.g., customers, vendors)
