Job Summary
Manufacturing Engineering Technician – Fabrication supports fabrication and weld operations by assisting in the development, documentation, and optimization of fabrication processes. This role works closely with Manufacturing Engineers, Production, Quality, Maintenance, and fabrication team members to ensure safe, repeatable, efficient, and high-quality cutting, forming, welding, and fixture-based processes. A key responsibility includes writing, updating, and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, process standards, and training documentation for fabrication operations. The position requires collaboration across teams to identify and resolve fabrication process issues, conduct time studies and process audits, train operators and welders on new procedures, participate in CAPA activities, and ensure safety and regulatory standards are met. The work environment comprises both office and manufacturing settings with a flexible schedule; located in Pooler, GA.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree or technical certification in Manufacturing, Welding Technology, Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, or related field preferred
- 1–3 years of experience in a fabrication, welding, manufacturing, or heavy equipment production environment
- Strong technical writing skills with experience creating SOPs, standard work, training documents, or technical documentation
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement tools (e.g., 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, root cause analysis, and standard work)
- Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings, weld symbols, basic GD&T, schematics, layouts, and technical documents
- Proficiency with basic hand tools, measurement instruments, welding/fabrication tooling, and diagnostic equipment
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work directly with welders, operators, engineers, quality personnel, and production leadership
- Basic computer proficiency (e.g., MS Office, document management systems, manufacturing systems, and data collection tools)
