Job Summary
Manufacturing Engineering Technician – Fabrication at JCB, Pooler, GA. Supports fabrication and weld operations by developing, documenting, and optimizing fabrication processes; writes and maintains SOPs, work instructions, and training documentation; collaborates with engineers, production, quality, and maintenance; conducts time studies and CAPA-related activities; trains operators on new procedures; ensures safety and regulatory compliance on shop floor; seeks continuous improvement in weld/cut/form operations and process stability.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree or technical certification in Manufacturing, Welding Technology, Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, or a related field preferred
- 1–3 years of experience in a fabrication, welding, manufacturing, or heavy equipment production environment
- Strong technical writing skills with experience creating SOPs, standard work, training documents, or technical documentation
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement tools (e.g., 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, root cause analysis, and standard work)
- Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings, weld symbols, basic GD&T, schematics, layouts, and technical documents
- Proficiency with basic hand tools, measurement instruments, welding/fabrication tooling, and diagnostic equipment
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work directly with welders, operators, engineers, quality personnel, and production leadership
- Basic computer proficiency (e.g., MS Office, document management systems, manufacturing systems, and data collection tools)
