Job Summary
Manufacturing Engineering Technician sought to support production and the manufacturing engineering team by troubleshooting equipment issues, developing new ideas, and driving safety improvements in a fast-paced, high-output environment. Responsibilities include assisting with layout planning, installation and testing of automated/semi-automated manufacturing equipment; supporting Lean Manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement; coordinating with vendors to procure and install tooling/fixtures/equipment; creating process documentation; recommending product improvements; supporting new product launches (PDP Process); estimating material and labor costs; and performing related duties to support daily production through troubleshooting, testing, and validation of products. Required skills include cross-functional networking, initiative and self-starting attitude, ability to adapt to changing conditions, and proficiency with MS Office and ERP/MRP systems (JD Edwards preferred) and SolidWorks; knowledge of ECOs, BOMs, and DFM; and a strong background in Lean/Continuous Improvement. Education and experience mix includes a High School diploma or AA/AS degree and 2 years in manufacturing; location: Anoka, MN, USA.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training)
- 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement projects
- Ability to use MS Office and MRP (JD Edwards preferred) and SolidWorks
- Knowledge of Design for Manufacturability (DFM)
- Ability to document processes in work instructions format
- Ability to process engineering change orders (ECOs) as they relate to bills of material and product routings
- Knowledge of product costing labor and material
