Job Summary
Define assembly methods for automotive electrical/electronic components, including testing and inspections. Collaborate with equipment manufacturers to specify and commission manufacturing equipment, plan plant layouts, and ensure utility readiness. Partner with Quality and Manufacturing teams to address non-conforming products, execute continuous improvement initiatives, and develop process flow diagrams, PFMEAs, and packaging plans. Create standardized work instructions, design tools and fixtures, and support additional tasks as assigned by the ME Manager. Requires proficiency in Microsoft Office, manufacturing time studies, plastic joining techniques, and CAD. Bachelor's degree in engineering with 3+ years of manufacturing experience preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or engineering technology
- 3+ years of experience in manufacturing (automotive industry preferred) or 8+ years of demonstrated expertise in required skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio)
- Expertise in manufacturing time studies (TAKT time, cycle time, elemental time)
- Experience creating flexible line balances to manage volume fluctuations
- Knowledge of plastic joining techniques (ultrasonic and vibration welding)
- Proficiency in 2D & 3D CAD
- Familiarity with electrical assembly test methods (continuity, Hipot) and electrical safety
- Strong grasp of lean manufacturing principles
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with a solid foundation in statistics and data analysis
- Root cause analysis
- Hazard analysis and the application of the hierarchy of controls to reduce risk and exposure
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Self-motivated, driven, and a strong team player with a commitment to success
