Job Summary
Develop detailed manufacturing plans for new programs requiring new equipment or retooling existing assets. Prepare sourcing activities from RFQ to PO for major outside tooling and equipment purchases, including continuity testers and alignment equipment. Gather product information, production rates, and assembly requirements from customer contacts to drive throughput and reduce scrap. Manage equipment certification, run-off, and installation support while ensuring proper OEE and process integrity. Collaborate with quality engineers to drive PFMEA, control plans, and error-proofing back into design. Assist launch teams with operator training and provide reference resources for new processes. Coordinate program change requests and optimize material flow with the PC&L team. Maintain equipment records, update databases, and develop policies, procedures, and guidelines. Act as a liaison to drive lessons learned and best practices into production processes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- 3+ years of experience in assembly and/or manufacturing
- 2+ years of experience with APQP system
- Supervisory experience in the manufacturing field
- General understanding of manufacturing processes
- Understanding of Android operations (sequencing, sub-assembly, shipping and receiving, and tooling)
- Strong knowledge of tooling, equipment, automation, engineering specifications, and cost reduction in automotive assembly applications
- High level of analytical ability and problem-solving skills
- Strong decision-making skills with ability to grasp technical concepts quickly
- Proficiency with GD&T process diagrams, PFMEA, and Control Plans
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with all team members
- Working knowledge of IATF quality system
- High level computer skills to include Windows applications, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
- Travel Required: Minimal
Desired Qualifications
- Proficiency with AutoCAD a plus
