Job Summary
Manufacturing Engineer (NPI) to move new products from concept through transfer to contract manufacturers. Collaborate with engineering groups to resolve design issues early, enable timely transfers to volume manufacturing, build electro-mechanical assemblies to develop assembly process flow and identify risks, create detailed assembly process documents for pilot production and contract manufacturers, design and qualify assembly tools and fixtures, evaluate assembly issues and implement corrective actions, work with suppliers on packaging solutions, and train personnel on proper assembly methods. Requires a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, 3+ years of related manufacturing engineering experience, proficiency with SolidWorks (and PDM a plus), and the ability to travel up to 10% and work on-site at our Deer Park, IL facility. This role supports local candidates or those willing to relocate at their own expense and offers base salary plus bonus eligibility and comprehensive benefits.
Required Qualifications
- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering
- 3+ years of related work experience in a manufacturing engineering position
- Strong mechanical aptitude and curiosity about how things go together
- Knowledge of developing assembly process flows from solid models, bills of materials and other design information
- Knowledge of creating and maintaining detailed product assembly instructions
- Experience developing mechanical tools and fixtures used in the assembly of mechanical and electro-mechanical products
- Ability to design and document parts and assemblies in SolidWorks; familiarity with SolidWorks PDM
- Experience with Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work full-time, on-site in Deer Park, IL (travel 0-10%)
- Willingness to relocate at own expense (local candidates or relocation at own expense)
- Experience collaborating with suppliers on packaging solutions for new products
