Job Summary

Manufacturing Engineer responsible for engineering initiatives/support that drive safety, quality, productivity, and cost initiatives within the Engineering team. Leads process and cell layout changes to improve throughput, balance operator workload, reduce non-value-added activities, and address ergonomic issues. Responsible for scrap reduction, improving process capability and efficiency, and supporting all phases of new product launches from design through production/service life cycle. Manages projects within time and budget targets, collaborates with Product Engineering, Customer, Operations, and other functional teams to set up and maintain manufacturing processes and systems, and coaches Engineering Technicians. Travel may be required; role supports multiple shifts and requires strong teamwork and KPI-driven mindset.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or applicable disciplines from four-year college or university
  • Minimum of five years engineering work experience in a related field or Advanced Degree with minimum of three years engineering work experience
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to manage multiple projects
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Understanding of plant goals and ability to drive improvements
  • Excellent computer skills (SAP, Microsoft Office)
  • Ability to lead teams, 8-D’s, Kaizen, etc.
  • Ability and willingness to support multiple shifts and adjust work schedule to plant needs
  • Understanding/learning and applying BOS and Lean principles
