Manufacturing Engineer - Technology Integration

Job Summary

Support the development, execution, and optimization of CAPEX and current projects, including concept development, design input, and safety assessments. Bridge the gap between technology development, manufacturing operations, and engineering delivery by working with suppliers, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure new equipment and processes are safely implemented and aligned with business needs. Act as a key link between manufacturing and digital technology teams to validate operational benefits against business cases and implement engineering changes for quality and safety. Contribute to continuous improvement projects using factory simulations and IT integration while supporting regional operational teams through priority alignment and technical input. Manage external stakeholders to deliver project outcomes on time and within budget, ensuring adherence to VTPS principles, engineering audits, and change control processes.

Required Qualifications

  • experience working in a manufacturing engineering, process engineering, automation or technology integration environment
  • A degree-level qualification in an engineering discipline, or equivalent technical experience
  • Strong experience working with PLCs, HMIs and industrial automation systems, including commissioning, troubleshooting and integration with wider manufacturing systems
  • Experience managing external stakeholders, including suppliers, contractors and technology partners
  • Good understanding of manufacturing engineering processes, project delivery, safety assessments, risk management and change control
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively from the shop floor through to management teams and across global stakeholders
  • Fluent English language skills, with the ability to hold technical discussions and collaborate across international teams
  • work on-site at our office in Shanghai, or Langfang in China

Desired Qualifications

  • ideally within a complex manufacturing or service operations setting
  • Knowledge of industrial networks and protocols such as Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profinet, Profibus or OPC-UA
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing, quality tools and continuous improvement methods such as Kaizen, time study, VSM, PFMEA and structured problem solving
