Job Summary
Lead development and optimization of steel processing operations, including forming and heat treatment. Provide technical expertise in annealing, tempering, heat treatment cycles, and steel drawing processes. Evaluate furnaces and production systems while troubleshooting manufacturing issues related to material behavior and defects. Partner with external consultants to assess best practices and support the development of internal standards for high-volume production. This role reports to the Sr. Manager of Manufacturing Engineering and is based in Anoka, Minnesota.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Metallurgy, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of experience in high-volume steel manufacturing or processing
- Hands-on experience with: Heat treatment (furnaces, cycles, atmosphere control)
- Annealing and/or tempering
- Steel forming or drawing processes
- Strong understanding of steel material behavior in production environments
- U.S. citizen or national
- U.S. lawful, permanent resident (a/k/a green card holder)
- Refugee under 8 U.S.C. Section 1157
- Asylee under 8 U.S.C. Section 1158
- Eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in cold heading, wire forming, or fastener manufacturing
- Background in Ammunition or Hunt/Shoot Industry
- Equipment selection or commissioning experience
- Experience troubleshooting material or metallurgical defects
- Familiarity with continuous or high-throughput processing systems
