Job Summary
Senior Manufacturing Engineer for Capella Space, based in Louisville, CO with the option to work a few days remotely. Lead the manufacturing of multiple spacecraft configurations from initial bus assembly through launch base integration. Own execution of spacecraft assembly and integration activities, ensuring hardware meets engineering requirements, quality standards, and production schedules. Develop work instructions and manufacturing processes to increase yield and reduce cycle time. Lead investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective actions for non-conformances. Design and own large-scale GSE for manufacturing and integration. Review models and drawings for conformance and manufacturability, and collaborate with Design for Manufacturing (DFM) to improve producibility and reduce defects. Partner with supply chain to improve material first pass yield. Qualifications include 5+ years in aerospace/space manufacturing, hands-on manufacturing and test experience, ASME Y14.5 GD&T, 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred), and PLM; ITAR/export-control compliance is required for U.S. Government work.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in the manufacturing of spacecrafts or complex electro-mechanical systems in an aerospace or space environment
- Hands on manufacturing and test experience
- Deep knowledge of ASME Y14.5 GD&T standards
- Proficient in 3D CAD (Solidworks preferred)
- Proficient with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools
- U.S. citizen, lawful U.S. permanent resident, or eligible for ITAR/compliance requirements
