Job Summary
Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing processes to increase productivity, improve quality, and reduce waste. Design, specify, and implement manufacturing equipment, tooling, fixtures, and automation solutions while providing hands-on technical support and troubleshooting for production equipment. Apply Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and other continuous improvement methodologies to identify and eliminate sources of waste, downtime, variation, and inefficiency. Partner with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and other cross-functional teams to resolve equipment and process issues affecting safety, quality, or productivity. Ensure manufacturing processes and equipment support applicable health, safety, and environmental requirements by incorporating safety considerations into designs and promoting safe work practices. Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation including standard operating procedures, work instructions, and technical reports while training machine technicians and operators on equipment operation and troubleshooting techniques.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering field
- Experience supporting manufacturing operations, process improvement, automation, and production troubleshooting
- Knowledge of manufacturing equipment, tooling, and production processes
- Experience with CAD software such as AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks
- Knowledge of PLC programming and CNC machining
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Kaizen principles
- Experience working with ERP/MRP systems used for manufacturing, production planning, or inventory management
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage projects and priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Strong communication and cross-functional teamwork skills
- Ability to effectively train and mentor machine technicians, operators, and other production personnel
- Previous engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or project management experience
- Robotics and manufacturing automation
- 3D printing/additive manufacturing
- Industry 4.0, connected manufacturing, or other advanced manufacturing technologies
