Job Summary
Manufacturing Engineer sought to design an optimal machining process for fabricating orthopedic implants and instruments per customer purchase orders, covering primary and secondary operations. Responsibilities include researching industry methodologies to apply the latest process technology, developing/modifying CNC programs, fixtures, set up sheets, tooling specifications (holding techniques, speeds/feeds), verifying programs before release, assisting with machine setup until first lot completion, identifying required tooling and ensuring timely orders, creating product and process specifications, gaining proficiency across multiple machining platforms, extending unattended machine operation via tool-life management, applying project-management practices (meetings, minutes, action plans), mentoring junior staff, preparing engineering change requests and overseeing change notices, participating in contract reviews and design-for-manufacturing sessions to improve manufacturability and cost/quality, conducting new job reviews, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, ensuring compliance with the Seabrook Quality System, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology or Manufacturing Engineering
- Minimum of 3-5 years related experience
