Job Summary
Ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, and customer-specific requirements by supporting contract reviews and flow-down activities. Develop and maintain quality plans, control plans, and inspection documentation while supporting internal and external audits. Provide on-site engineering support to manufacturing operations, performing root cause analysis using 8D, 5-Why, and FMEA to lead corrective and preventive actions. Monitor process capability, SPC data, and yield metrics, and support first article inspections per AS9102. Manage supplier qualification, audits, and performance reviews to drive quality improvements across the supply chain. Serve as the quality point of contact for customer inquiries, audits, and escapes, preparing data reports as required. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement through Lean and Six Sigma initiatives, participating in design and process reviews to ensure quality is designed in upfront.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related technical field
- 2+ years of quality engineering experience in aerospace or regulated manufacturing or 5 years equivalent experience with no degree
- Strong knowledge of AS9100, quality systems, and aerospace standards
- Experience with root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and specifications
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and quality systems or ERP/MES tools
- Experience with AS9102 First Article Inspection (FAI), knowledge of special processes (e.g., heat treat, welding, NDT, plating), and familiarity with statistical tools and Minitab or equivalent software
