Job Summary
Design, improve, and optimize manufacturing processes for aerospace electric motors while ensuring compliance with industry standards. Develop manufacturing layouts, process flow diagrams, and line balancing strategies to enhance operational efficiency. Lead engineering projects from conception through production, coordinating equipment suppliers and cross-functional teams for new product introduction and pilot runs. Establish quality control measures, conduct process validations, and drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies. Provide technical support to production staff and resolve equipment issues to minimize downtime.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably in aerospace or a related high-tech industry
- Hands-on experience with electrical motor manufacturing processes, including assembly, testing, and quality control
- Proficiency in English
- Visa and Passport required
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and equipment used in electrical motor production with experience on equipment validation, process development, and production line implementation
- Proficiency in CAD software, such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD, and other engineering tools
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles, line balancing, ergonomics, and poka-yoke implementation
- Familiarity with PFMEA, Control Plans, SOPs, Work Instructions, SPC, MSA, and process validation methodologies
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to make technical decisions independently and escalate appropriately when required
- Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and multinational stakeholders, including teams from Japan, Brazil, Mexico, and the United States
- Self-motivated individuals with strong ownership mindset, accountability, organization, and adaptability
- Strong negotiation, communication, teamwork, and leadership skills
- Travel and temporarily relocate domestically or internationally based on project requirements
Desired Qualifications
- Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., Six Sigma Green/Black Belt)
- Japanese communication skills
- Preferred Japanese level: N3 or above
