Job Summary
Develop and implement scalable manufacturing processes to ensure reliable, safe systems. Collaborate with design engineers to improve manufacturability, performance, safety, and cost across parts and assemblies. Build, assemble, and validate prototypes, test stands, and development units while performing root-cause analysis on test failures to develop hardware mitigations. Establish manufacturing and quality practices that scale through production phases. This early-career role requires a recent graduate with hands-on hardware experience to transition new technology into repeatable production, working closely with design teams to drive down enrichment costs.
Required Qualifications
- Evidence of exceptional ability (prior projects, portfolio of work, completed products, etc).
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- 1+ years of professional experience in manufacturing, development, or production engineering.
- Proficient in a 3D CAD package (such as Solidworks, CATIA, NX, etc.) and the ability to make manufacturing drawings using GD&T.
- Hands-on experience building hardware.
- Ability to work extended hours and weekends as necessary.
Desired Qualifications
- Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals.
- Ability to perform trade studies and make clear recommendations using first principles and engineering fundamentals even with partial information.
- Experience in a fast-paced engineering environment or a highly technical role requiring a resourceful, entrepreneurial approach to complete tasks within tight timeframes or budget constraints.
- Experience with hardware in early development phases that transition to production.
- Hands-on skills such as machining, welding, and assembly.
