Job Summary
Manufacturing Engineer responsible for the design, development, and optimization of manufacturing processes and hardware from the ground up for brain-interface medical devices. Core duties include detailed 3D CAD and 2D drawings with a heavy focus on DFX, rapid prototyping, identifying and managing key vendors, developing and executing electro-mechanical test systems for verification/validation across components to full production, addressing manufacturing rate limiters and yield issues, working with data acquisition/control systems to improve in-test and in-process data, designing tooling and equipment, forecasting major equipment purchases, and ensuring compliance with relevant standards (GxP, 21 CFR) and documentation for regulatory submissions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience and ability
- 3+ years of mechanical engineering industry experience
- Strong grasp of engineering's first principles
- Experience with DFX, conventional machining, rapid prototyping technologies, and precision design + manufacturing
- Proficiency in CAD (SolidWorks preferred)
