Job Summary
Inject mold processing, molding automation, and end-of-arm tooling while providing technical support to manufacturing production teams focused on operational excellence. Develop molding tool and processes for new products by participating in design reviews, optimizing injection mold conditions, and specifying secondary equipment like degators and nesting systems. Lead cycle time, scrap, and mold change reduction activities through collaborative problem solving, preventive maintenance planning, and process audits. Perform mold-specific training for operators and supervisors, ensuring safe operation of molding machines, robots, and auxiliary equipment while championing process improvements across the SPI manufacturing plant.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or similar technical discipline
- 5 years of experience in a technical position in an injection molding environment
- Scientific injection molding knowledge
- Hands on mold process development ability
- Molding automation / EOAT knowledge
- Hands on molding robot programming ability
- Knowledge of a variety of molding technologies including gas-assist, sequential valve gate processing, applique insert molding, and two-shot / multi-material molding
- Knowledge of injection mold design
- Ability to read and critique drawings
- Ability to contribute to ensuring high quality mold designs
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software suite – Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Independent thinking with strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Flexible and able to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously
- Agreement to complete all post-hire required training
- A minimum score of 50 on the Wonderlic Select Assessment (Traditional Score of 26 on the cognitive portion)
- Less than 5% travel

- Wittmann robot experience
