Job Summary
Design and optimize manufacturing processes for satellite components and systems while collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop manufacturing strategies and plans. Conduct root cause analysis for production issues, implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and quality, and support production teams with technical guidance and troubleshooting. This mid-level Manufacturing Engineer role enhances production capabilities and ensures the efficient delivery of high-quality satellite systems within Loft's growing fleet.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably in aerospace or high-tech environments
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g., CNC Machining, hand-soldering, harness fabrication)
- Foundational knowledge of engineering concepts, including but not limited to: kinetics/dynamics, fluid mechanics, power systems, and thermodynamics
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
- Familiarity with aerospace standards and regulations (e.g., AS9100, IPC, NASA and/or ECSS)
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented mindset
Desired Qualifications
- Green or Black Belt Certification
- Experience with project management tools and techniques
- Previous experience as a technician building spacecraft
