Manufacturing Engineer Lead- 2nd shift

Job Summary
Manage day-to-day activities of a team of process engineers, including setting objectives, managing results, and evaluating individual performance. Lead the development and implementation of improvements to manufacturing processes, analyzing first-time quality data and optimizing processes using statistical tools like Red X and Design of Experiments. Interface with plant site personnel, Central ME personnel, and Product Engineers on new programs, while developing process documentation and overseeing PPAP and GP-12 activities. Provide technical direction to less experienced engineers and support Business Plan Deployment initiatives to achieve plant metrics in Safety, People, Quality, Reliability, and Cost. This onsite 2nd shift role (4pm-1am, M-Fri) requires full-time reporting to the Toledo, OH plant, with weekend availability and potential relocation assistance.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to lead a group of technical professionals
- Strong technical knowledge and ability in process engineering disciplines
- Demonstrates excellent level of analytical ability, communication and interpersonal skills required to build relationships with team members and customers to solve problems and resolve issues
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple and difficult projects and assignments with high level of autonomy and accountability for results
- Demonstrates initiative by reaching beyond work assigned to improve output and/or help others
- Proven ability in project management skills and ability to teach others
- Effective working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Word
- Strong knowledge and ability to implement Global Manufacturing Systems (GMS) principles
- Demonstrated basic understanding of mechanical concepts involving machine designs, process requirements involved in the manufacturing process
- Must be willing to work weekends
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Valid driver's license
Desired Qualifications
- Machining and assembly manufacturing process experience
- Bachelor degree (Engineering preferred) or equivalent experience
