Job Summary
Manufacturing Engineer – Own the production of ultra-thin deployable reflectors for spacecraft, from prototyping to high-rate production. Collaborate with design, test, and engineering teams to create precise, repeatable, and efficient manufacturing processes. Design for manufacturability to turn engineering theory into space-qualified hardware and flight-ready units. Hands-on in the lab building and iterating to scale from prototype to thousands of units, balancing speed with craftsmanship and ensuring high-quality production. Bonus familiarity with deployable structures, solar sails, or aerospace-grade composites. Role emphasizes the ability to scale from prototype to orbit and to contribute across design, test, and manufacturing disciplines.
Required Qualifications
- Experience with ultra-thin or lightweight materials in precision applications
- Hands-on mindset with tools, fixtures, and mechanical problem solving in the field
- Ability to build production processes from scratch focusing on repeatability, throughput, and quality
