Job Summary
Manufacturing Engineer II designs tools and machines for manufacture, redesigns/repairs in-process production equipment and tooling, and develops processes, tooling, and production controls for new products. Responsibilities include supervising assembly and proofing of equipment, setting up and training on new equipment, writing operation procedures, estimating production times and staffing, developing labor standards, applying Lean and Six Sigma to drive process improvements, leading Kaizen events, coordinating capital expenditures and production introductions, and coordinating with maintenance to improve equipment reliability. Requires a Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of hands-on manufacturing engineering experience, proficiency with Windows and Microsoft Office, knowledge of Lean/ergonomic principles, and experience in equipment justification, fabrication processes, and process introduction.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years’ experience
- Hands-on manufacturing engineering experience
- Proficiency in a Windows operating environment, including e-mail, Microsoft Office software
- Experience with Lean manufacturing principles, ergonomic principles, and classic industrial engineering principles
- Experience in equipment justification, specification and installation
- Experience in fabrication processes, and sheet metal processing
- Strong presentation, teamwork and coaching skills
- Knowledge of formal problem-solving methods
- Previous experience with new products and process introduction
