Job Summary
The Manufacturing Engineer will lead capital and process-improvement projects in a plant setting, guiding maintenance and engineering activities to enhance safety, quality, and site processes. Responsibilities include managing projects from concept to completion, providing technical guidance to maintenance, initiating plant-level improvements, overseeing PLC programming and control systems, and championing safety and 5S deployments. The role requires hands-on experience with machine design and related systems (piping, pumps, hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, silos, tanks, extruders, winders, rollers) and a strong emphasis on cross-functional collaboration, problem-solving, and driving OEE improvements through engineering solutions. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential to coordinate multiple projects and align with in-house marketing and multi-unit teams. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
- 4-7 years in a related industry such as plastic or converting environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of machine design capability
- Knowledge of Mechanical Building Codes and OSHA standards
- Design experience with process piping, pumps, hydraulic systems, pneumatics, natural gas, air conveyance systems, silos, tanks, extruders, winders, rollers, conveyors
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Experience in a continuous improvement environment
- Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Relocation willingness for right candidate
