Job Summary
Manufacturing Engineer responsible for setting up and validating manufacturing processes, tooling, fixtures, and work instructions for production; ensuring production readiness and ramp; supporting pilot builds and floor-level troubleshooting; establishing standard work, line balance, and takt time; driving continuous improvement in cost, quality, and efficiency; implementing error-proofing and process controls; maintaining process documentation through launch and early production; collaborating with Tooling, Maintenance, and Quality; supporting process capability activities (MSA, studies, control plans); analyzing production data to identify issues and drive improvements; participating in root cause analysis using structured problem-solving methods (e.g., 8D, A3). Also required is a Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering field and 2+ years of relevant experience, with familiarity in Lean principles and quality systems (PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA). The role emphasizes hands-on, cross-functional collaboration in a high-volume manufacturing environment, with a focus on sustaining processes, safety, ergonomics, run-at-rate capability, and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field
- 2+ years of relevant experience in manufacturing, engineering, or a related field (internships, co-ops, or hands-on project experience strongly considered)
- Exposure to manufacturing environments such as automation, assembly, or high-volume production
- Experience with Lean manufacturing principles
- Familiarity with quality systems such as PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA, and basic capability analysis
- Knowledge of IATF/PPAP processes is a plus
- Exposure to data analysis tools and willingness to develop data-driven decision-making skills
