Job Summary
Manufacturing engineer role focused on optimizing processes and supporting product lines for an assembled metal products company. Responsibilities include leading safety-first manufacturing projects, driving continuous improvement and lean manufacturing to improve costs, volumes, and quality; managing capital and machinery improvement projects and plant layout; collaborating with vendors and contractors on equipment installations; developing manufacturing processes for new or improved products; and implementing robotics/automation where practical, with PLC-based production systems as a plus. Travel between facilities is expected; initial location consideration in Dyersburg, TN.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors' degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering or similar is preferred but not required
- At least two years of experience developing manufacturing methods, procedures, processes in a production environment
- Experience with lean principles and value stream mapping
- Experience with 3D CAD systems
- Welding is a plus
- Familiarity with PLC-based production systems is a plus
- Should be OK with some travel between manufacturing facilities
- Green card holders and US Citizens only (permanent authorization to work in the US)
