Job Summary
Manufacturing Engineer III at Wabtec Bus SolutionsLead and execute manufacturing engineering assignments focused on programming, debugging, commissioning, and optimizing machining, robotics and automated systems to achieve reliable unmanned operation. Responsibilities include programming and commissioning industrial robotic systems for CNC/machine tending, defining manufacturing processes, designing/building/maintaining fixtures, creating functional/technical specs for automation, leading automation projects from concept through sustained production, optimizing cycle times and uptime, integrating equipment with data-collection and monitoring tools, and supporting operator training and production launches. Apply statistical methods to forecast requirements and identify issues, pursue Capital Acquisitions to reduce costs and improve safety/environmental outcomes, and stay current with Industry 4.0 concepts. Travel up to 10% to customer sites; relocation assistance may be provided if eligible. This role requires legal work authorization in the U.S. and may involve a drug screen and fitness-for-duty assessment as applicable. Salary range is $68,900–$98,200 with potential benefits and bonuses described by the company.”,
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering
- 5–8 years of hands-on experience programming industrial robots and automation systems
- Experience in Creo / Solid Works with background in CAM processors
- Machining tool selection and optimization for process
- Strong experience with robot programming, PLC programming, and HMI development
- Ability to independently lead automation projects in a manufacturing environment
