Job Summary
Follow all manufacturing Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's) and Standard Operating Procedures while performing project management for assigned manufacturing changes, new product methods, and production fixture designs. Evaluate existing machinery to recommend improvements enhancing operator performance and ergonomics, then optimize floor layout and material flow using lean concepts to improve takt time and overhead. Develop technical documentation for equipment qualification, setup, and maintenance, while conducting R&D testing to validate compliance with quality standards. Confers with vendors to specify product requirements and arrange equipment purchases, utilizing analytical skills to identify opportunities for cost, lead-time, and inventory reduction.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field
- 5+ Years of experience in Engineering role
- Medical, Aerospace, Pharms or Military Mfg experience
- New Product Introduction experience
- Project impact
- Advanced understanding of ISO13485 standard (or equivalent), OSHA/Safety, Lean Six Sigma or Six Sigma Methodologies, PFMEA, Minitab, Oracle Configuration (or equivalent), Process/Equipment Validation, NPI (New Product Introduction), Root Cause Analysis and Solidworks
- Good Manufacturing Practices
- Designs of Experiments (DOE)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software
- Project Management and Lean Manufacturing experience
- Excellent knowledge of statistical tools, ability to manage multiple tasks and appropriate use of Design of Experiments (DOE) when developing recommendations
- Must be flexible and adapt to changing environments and priorities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Occasionally lifts up to 20 lbs.
- Carries up to 10 lbs.
- Maintains manual dexterity to handle and manipulate small items effectively
- Requires visual acuity to distinguish colors, assess spatial relationships, and focus on fine details
Desired Qualifications
- Automation experience
- Swiss Machining
- Advanced manufacturing process (CNC machining, injection molding, stamping)
- PLC, a plus
- SPC (Statistical Process Control) knowledge preferred
