Job Summary
Manufacturing Engineer II at Wabtec Bus Solutions supports manufacturing method development and improvement in an industrial plant. Responsible for estimating production times, staffing requirements, and costs to inform management decisions; collaborates with management, engineering, and staff to assess manufacturing capabilities; trains technical and non-technical associates; applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential issues while driving solutions. Responsibilities include conducting DFMEA sessions to identify design risks, promoting quality, managing projects, and driving cost-conscious improvements. Requires Bachelor's degree and 3-6 years related experience (or equivalent), Lean Manufacturing and FMEA experience, and CAD experience (AutoCAD or ProE/SolidWorks). Travel up to 10% to customers and manufacturing sites; relocation assistance may be provided if eligible. The role emphasizes quality management, visionary leadership, and project coordination, with an office-plant based work environment and in-person duties at Buffalo Grove, IL.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from four-year College or university; or three to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience in Lean Manufacturing, FMEA, PFMEA, Gemba events
- 6 months+ experience in AutoCAD or ProE/SolidWorks
