Job Summary
Lead process improvement initiatives to increase productivity, reduce waste, and optimize manufacturing efficiency while partnering with Operations, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to support new product introductions and engineering changes. Develop and maintain work instructions, routings, and Standard Operating Procedures, and analyze production data to identify trends and implement corrective actions. Apply Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Design for Manufacturability principles to improve throughput and support automation initiatives, including conducting time studies, labor analysis, and capacity planning. Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards while driving continuous improvement across production operations. Bachelor's degree in engineering required with 2+ years of manufacturing experience; proficient in CAD and ERP systems. Based in Sanford, NC at our air quality solutions facility.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 2+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Design for Manufacturability (DFM)
- PFMEA development and risk assessment
- Time studies, labor analysis, and process optimization
- Root cause analysis and corrective action implementation
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills utilizing Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Proficiency with CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar design platforms.
- Experience working with ERP/MRP systems for BOM management, engineering changes, routings, and production planning.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple functions.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in HVAC, indoor air quality (IAQ), filtration, air movement, or related manufacturing industries.
- Experience in assembly, electro-mechanical, or high-mix manufacturing environments.
- Familiarity with automation, robotics, vision systems, or advanced manufacturing technologies.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management systems and manufacturing documentation requirements.
- Lean Six Sigma certification or formal continuous improvement training.
- Experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) initiatives.
