Job Summary
Manufacturing Engineer II plays a key role in driving improvements across the value stream, owning manufacturing processes for assigned products, ensuring manufacturing readiness for new products, leading corrective actions, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. Responsibilities include developing and improving manufacturing methods, routings, BOM structures, labor standards, and work instructions; ensuring manufacturability and assembly efficiency; leading root cause investigations for manufacturing issues; estimating manufacturing costs and establishing time standards; supporting engineering changes; collaborating with quality, production, and engineering teams; providing technical support to production; evaluating equipment needs and supporting capital equipment implementations; and mentoring junior engineers. Preferred qualifications include Lean manufacturing practices and Lean Six Sigma certification; experience in complex machinery manufacture and DFMA principles; familiarity with financial principles.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience in a manufacturing or industrial engineering role
- Citizenship: U.S. Citizen or qualified U.S. Person in accordance with ALU 22CFR 120.15; may require the ability to obtain DOD security clearance
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time based on business need
- Working knowledge of GD&T dimensioning
- Familiarity with and ability to perform basic cost accounting calculations such as ROI, NPV, and Cost of Goods
