Job Summary
Study, analyze, and design methods, procedures, processes, layouts, fixtures, and tooling to meet job objectives. Identify and recommend resolutions for manufacturing problems, equipment failures, or safety issues, while investigating and preparing cost reduction and product improvement programs. Coordinate with support groups, vendors, and customers to ensure manufacturability and process capabilities for new products. Develop, monitor, and report project schedules; establish Standard Operating Procedures for new equipment; and sustain production by determining root causes and implementing corrective actions for quality issues and documentation errors. May develop operating instructions and train assemblers and operators. Requires 3 to 5 years of manufacturing engineering experience, a bachelor's degree in engineering, and hands-on floor work including moderate lifting and tool manipulation.
Required Qualifications
- 3 to 5 years experience in Manufacturing Engineering or related technical discipline
- Bachelors degree in engineering or equivalent combination of education and directly related professional experience
- experience and knowledge of injection molding automation and assembly automation systems design and construction
- knowledge of industrial controls electronics, PLC and robotic programming, design and troubleshooting
- knowledge of manufacturing methods, techniques, equipment and processes
- knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs and other techniques
- knowledge of design techniques, tools and principles involved in production of precision technical plans blueprints, drawings and models
- ability to read, write, and speak English adequately to understand and develop work instructions
- Knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma tools
- US Person (i.e. US Citizen or Permanent Resident)
