Manufacturing Engineer II - Industrial Engineering

Job Summary

Develop manufacturing assembly and test work instructions, guides, and procedures while representing the team on new product introduction teams to drive efficient designs using design for manufacturing and serviceability. Promote Lean methodologies including Kaizen, Kanban, 5S, and value stream mapping to reduce scrap, rework, and cycle time through time studies, capacity analysis, and workflow optimization. Conduct root cause analysis on component failures, implement engineering change orders, and support the integration of automated equipment and fixtures. Engage in supplier assessments and first article approval processes to ensure quality standards. This role requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering, 2–5 years of manufacturing experience, and proficiency in SAP and CAD software. Located in Madison, WI, this full-time position involves working with hazardous materials and requires PPE.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future
  • Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check, which includes a drug screen
  • HS Diploma/GED required
  • 2–5 years of relevant experience in manufacturing operations preferred
  • Experience applying industrial engineering principles such as time studies, line balancing, and process flow optimization
  • Experience with good engineering practices and manufacturing process development
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Data analysis experience
  • ERP experience, SAP preferred
  • CAD software experience
  • Proven track record to troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing issues
  • Experience in process improvement and Lean methodologies
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to mentor and train manufacturing personnel
  • Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs with assistance

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent experience will also be considered
  • Experience applying industrial engineering principles such as time studies, line balancing, and process flow optimization
  • ERP experience, SAP preferred
  • Exposure to automation, controls, or equipment integration in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Basic understanding of PLCs, sensors, or automated systems is a plus (not required)
