Job Summary
Manufacturing Engineer I at Wilcox collaborates with engineers, program managers, assembly operations, machinists, and quality teams to ensure design for manufacturability and successful transition to mass production. The role includes acting as a liaison between mechanical engineers and machinists, supporting prototypes, conducting hands-on testing to verify performance and compliance, identifying design flaws and process improvements, performing time and motion studies to optimize workflows, ensuring manufacturability in the design process, diagnosing production-line issues, providing technical support to reduce downtime, collecting and analyzing process data with statistical tools, training operators on new processes, and maintaining thorough engineering documentation for traceability. Preference is given to experience with MIL-STD-461/810, laser/night vision/target location systems, and a strong SolidWorks skillset. Regular on-site attendance is required. This is an on-site, full-time role in Newington, NH, US.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent experience)
- Proficient in SolidWorks
- Ability to conduct and document root cause/corrective action
- Ability to document test results and write conclusions
- Strong verbal and written communication
- Understanding of mechanical systems, materials, and manufacturing processes
- Hands-on experience with prototype fabrication and testing
- Good interpersonal communication
- Basic understanding of GD&T
- Detail-oriented with focus on quality
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
