Manufacturing Engineer

Job Summary
Analyze company work orders to plan current and future aircraft configurations, then manage the cost to build by performing make or buy decisions for in-house versus outsourced work. Formulate and implement the aircraft build sequence tailored to specific customer requirements while designing cable harness and layout for all product lines. Manage internal and external suppliers daily to ensure planning meets the master schedule, and evaluate design conflicts between multiple holders to provide resolution and feedback. Define manufacturing capability for the plant by coordinating with Industrial Engineering to design production layout and establish a five-year business plan for the bill of material. Apply lean manufacturing principles to the workflow and lead improvement initiatives to facilitate the most efficient helicopter build cycle approach.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in Aerospace, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- 3 - 5 years of work experience in an Aerospace environment or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledge of FAA certification requirement and procedure
- Strong communication skills
- Good informatic skills
- Program management skills
- Able to work independently with minimal directions
Desired Qualifications
- EASA
- Familiarity with Aerospace Mechanical, Flight Controls, Communication and Navigation system Engine, Hydraulic and Fuel Systems
- Knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing
- Knowledge of Italian or Polish
