Job Summary
Manufacturing Engineer responsible for driving Continuous Improvement and optimization of production processes, overseeing daily production operations, ensuring policies are followed, and developing processes to maximize safety, quality and productivity. Key duties include increasing production capacity and flexibility while controlling costs, modifying and maintaining PLC-based automated conveyors and drive systems, troubleshooting Ethernet/Device Net networks, applying OSHA safety knowledge, conducting entry-level software development and documentation for Beckhoff PLC controls, developing Ignition/SCADA logic, collaborating with engineers to resolve issues, guiding quality-control practices, leading inspection activity, allocating resources to optimize asset use, collecting/analyzing data to identify waste or overtime, enforcing plant safety procedures, and developing systems to track productivity, performance targets and ROA; staying current with industry best practices in production management.
Required Qualifications
- Proven working experience as a Manufacturing/Industrial Engineer or Mechanical Engineer specializing in Automation Technology.
- 1-3 yrs. experience in PLC troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with industry standard equipment and technical expertise.
- Knowledge of safety, quality, productivity, demand creation, inventory and manufacturing processes.
- Strong team building, decision-making and people management skills.
- Ability to create accountability and to lead by example.
