Job Summary
Schedule production costs, process methods, and liaise with Design Engineering to improve manufacturing techniques. Align with product lines to establish routings, SOPs, fixtures, and tooling while determining in-house versus subcontracted tooling procurement. Assume responsibility for safe operating implementation of changed processes, including written and oral procedures, and develop production, assembly, and test procedures to ensure economical and proficient output. This on-site role in Redruth, Cornwall, reports to the Air senior manufacturing engineer and supports Pall Corporation's mission in life sciences and diagnostics.
Required Qualifications
- Formal engineering qualification to at least HNC level or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering
- In-depth knowledge and experience of Lean Manufacturing and Manufacturing Engineering principles and practices
- Understanding of assembly, machining and fabrication techniques and limitations
- Minimum of three years experience of hands-on production/manufacturing engineering
- Familiarity with welding, fabrication and general sheet metal operations
- Small machine/equipment design
- Knowledge of bills of material
- Knowledge of routings
- Knowledge of manufacturing procedures
- Knowledge of tooling/fixture design
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing / C.I. principles
- Knowledge of NPI
- This will be an on-site role
