Manufacturing engineer

Manufacturing engineer at Damen Song Cam shipyard responsible for enriching 3D ship design models into Manufacturing Bill of Materials (MBOM), creating routings and manufacturing logic, and ensuring seamless data transfer to MES and ERP. Bridges design and production to optimize manufacturability, accuracy, and efficiency throughout the production lifecycle. Defines initial and ideal production strategy per ship type, sets up modular MBOM structures and routings in 3DX, and captures manufacturing logic in reusable templates. Standardizes and improves manufacturing processes for quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness; supports anonymous production by decoupling planning from engineering timelines. Uses 3DX to manage the digital thread from design to production and structures manufacturing data in line with MBOM and process planning methodologies. Collaborates on future capabilities such as digital twins and model-based execution; incorporates engineering changes into manufacturing models and provides feedback to ensure production-ready designs. Identifies inefficiencies and drives continuous improvement targeting rework, waiting time, and planning stability; contributes to data-driven, synchronized industrial flow. Ensures complete and correct transfer of manufacturing data to MES for shopfloor scheduling and ERP for materials management, procurement, and production planning.
