Job Summary
Hands-on Manufacturing Engineer to support operations through process improvement, equipment optimization, engineering change management, and continuous improvement initiatives. Responsibilities include reducing downtime, improving process flow, minimizing scrap, developing and maintaining manufacturing documentation (Process Flow, PFMEA, SOPs, line balance studies), analyzing labor content and ergonomics to boost efficiency, supporting tooling implementation and continuous improvement initiatives, and maintaining error-proofing systems, process controls, and quality containment activities. Requires an associate degree (preferred) or equivalent experience, 1+ year in manufacturing/assembly, knowledge of PFMEA/standardized work/engineering change management, PLC systems, torque equipment, tooling, assembly processes, and proficiency with AutoCAD and MS Office. Position is on-site at Detroit – Kettering facility with up to ~20% travel.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related technical field preferred, or equivalent manufacturing experience
- Minimum one (1) year of experience in manufacturing and assembly operations
- Experience with process development, PFMEA, standardized work, and engineering change management
- Working knowledge of PLC systems, torque equipment, manufacturing tooling, and assembly processes
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
