Job Summary
Develop and optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality while ensuring compliance with safety regulations and quality standards. Utilize lean manufacturing principles to eliminate waste, design layouts for equipment setups, and analyze workflow to maximize efficiency. Troubleshoot production issues, implement corrective actions, and provide technical support and training to production staff. Own the manufacturing or assembly process from prototype through end of life, develop project timelines, and perform ROI calculations on capital equipment. Monitor production data to identify improvement areas and ensure ERP routing details are accurate.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing/Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing/Mechanical Engineering Technology, or like degree
- 2 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role in assembly or fabrication environment
- Basic understanding of ISO 901
- Great understanding of the product development process
- Extensive experience in structured root cause and corrective action methodology
- Intermediate computer skills in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Epicor
- Intermediate using 3D modeling and 2D CAD software (AutoCAD, Inventor, SolidWorks, CATIA)
- Great understanding of BOM structure and reading manufacturing prints
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Communication proficiency both verbal and written
- Strong project management skills
- Ability to function well under the demands of project due dates
- Ability to work independently and own all manufacturing processes and work with a cross-functional team
