Manufacturing Engineer – Aseptic Filling

Job Summary
Lead and support process improvements within aseptic filling to enhance efficiency, consistency, and operational performance. Drive implementation of new manufacturing processes, including equipment support, process changes, and new fill line introductions. Act as a process owner for part of the manufacturing operation, identifying and addressing inefficiencies through floor-based observation and batch record review. Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver sustainable solutions and coach colleagues during improvement activities. Approximately 60-70% of the role focuses on implementation and optimization, with the remainder covering core GMP responsibilities like documentation and change controls. Work Monday through Friday with an on-call rotation of one week in four, available between 07:00 and 22:00. Join a team producing biologics for early clinical development at AstraZeneca Nijmegen.
Required Qualifications
- Relevant experience from a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment
- Experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing
- Strong knowledge of aseptic processing, ideally within aseptic vial filling
- Experience in process implementation, optimisation and continuous improvement
- A solid understanding of GMP and the quality expectations of a regulated environment
- The ability to assess issues, prioritise effectively and respond well in a changing operational setting
- Strong communication skills
- The confidence to work across teams and disciplines
- An analytical mindset, with the ability to translate observations into practical improvements
- Good written and spoken English
- Dutch is preferred, but we are open to candidates with strong English and the right experience
