Job Summary
1st Shift Electrical Technician responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting production lines and equipment to maximize uptime and efficiency. Install, maintain, and support instruments and control systems used in industrial manufacturing; work with sensors, control valves, actuators, PLCs, HMIs, motion control systems, and related automation equipment. Provide real-time troubleshooting and repair of electrical, instrumentation, controls, and automation systems; diagnose PLC, HMI, sensor, motion control, and electrical issues; respond to work requests with urgency to optimize overall equipment effectiveness. Participate in preventive and predictive maintenance, continuous improvement initiatives, commissioning of new equipment, and documentation of troubleshooting steps, repairs, and improvements in maintenance management systems while ensuring safety compliance (lockout/tagout) and applicable electrical codes. Collaborate with engineers, operators, maintenance, quality, and other stakeholders to optimize control strategies and equipment performance, and support packaging and manufacturing goals to reduce scrap and improve first-pass yield.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience supporting automated manufacturing equipment
- Associate’s degree in Electronics, Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related field
- Microsoft Office Suite Experience, including experience logging and communicating data through Excel spreadsheets
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
- Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision during 2nd shifts
- Ability to prioritize multiple issues in a fast-paced environment
- Sense of urgency and ownership
